We are recruiting for a Deputy Superintendent Pharmacist / Operations Manager, this is an exciting opportunity ideal for a pharmacist who is looking to take the next step in their career. This opportunity provides excellent commercial exposure through directly working with our Superintendent / General Manager.

As Deputy Superintendent Pharmacist / Operations Manager you would need to ensure all compliance elements are upheld. This is a combined role as Operations Management and a Superintendent function and is ideal for a candidate which has experience of both, although not essential as a willingness  to learn is more important.  You will be reporting to the Superintendent / General Manager, advising and managing the pharmaceutical aspects of the business to manage risk to patient safety and the business.

You will assist with leading and directing the Compliance Department to deliver legal and professional Services within the Business. Develop, advise on and implement safe working practices relating to Services, Projects and the NHS Pharmacy Contract. Involved in a range of activities, these cover areas such as; 

  • Operations Management
  • Ensure Safe and legal working practices within the Branch Network
  • Compliance with GPhC Standards
  • Ensure compliance with the Medicines Act 1968, Misuse of Drugs Act 1972 and Responsible Pharmacist Regulations
  • Ensure compliance with the NHS Pharmacy Contracts
  • Management of ProScript 
  • Management of Generic Pricing and Management of Web Restrictions for Branch purchasing
  • Management of service provision in the branch network
  • Information Governance
  • Maintenance of SOP’s
  • Management of NHS Choices
  • Management of CPPQ
  • Management of Clinical Governance
  • Management of complaints and errors
  • Managing of Risk and Patient Safety
  • Managing relationships with professional organisations
  • Achievement of all KPI’s and targets by the required deadline
  • Any other task commensurate with the role

Personal Specification

Pharmacist Registered with the GPhC and full fitness to practice, good knowledge of Pharmacy Law, Regulations and the NHS Contract.  It would be desirable to be IP accredicated however not essential. Good Communication Skills, Attention to detail. 

Location and Logistics

This role will be Midlands based, overseeing 30 branches within the East Midlands, West Midlands and South West regions. The successful applicant will be provided with a Company Car, Phone and Laptop.
